The firm of Thomas N. Williams & Associates, which by design has been kept small, was formed in 1972. Although there are many philosophies and approaches as to how executive search work may be conducted, it has been my stated position that the business best lends itself to a very personal, thorough and precise approach in assisting the client to fill key positions. To this end, I have personally involved myself in all searches that the firm has undertaken.
Each search is conducted in a highly professional manner. Broad efforts are made to identify individuals who possess the indicated background and experience. Every effort is made to keep in close contact with the client on a regular basis to take advantage of reaction to individuals who are under consideration and thus avoid unnecessary expenditure or time and funds.
Contacts are made on a personal basis, either by phone or personal meeting. All candidates are thoroughly screened and reference checked and written reports are submitted to the client on those individuals who are considered to be viable candidates.
I have successfully completed a number of searches for a broad range of corporations and companies across the nation. The compensation level of the majority of the assignments that I have conducted has been in the $100,000 to $500,000 range. Tom Williams has a total of 30 years experience in the executive recruiting profession together with an equal amount of time consulting in the human resources field.
In addition to his consulting practice Tom Williams has been very active with Stanford University in a number of areas. He earned a varsity letter in football in 1958, and became the first African American football player in the school's history. Tom has also served on several boards and committees at the University including: the Athletic Board, the Executive Board of the Alumni Association and a number of search and recruitment committees involved with attracting students and professional level individuals to the University.
More recently Mr. Williams has made acquaintance with a significant number of coaches both in the college and professional ranks. These contacts will enable him to build a substantial data base of some of the finest coaches in the profession today.
